Greenpill Dev Guild 2024 Recap

As we approach the end of the year, it’s time to reflect on what the Greenpill Dev Guild has accomplished in the past two quarters. Our summer update outlined our roles, structure, and core projects. This recap not only revisits those highlights but also introduces exciting new developments—workshops, financial roles, and more. Take a few minutes to dive into the story of our journey, and join us in looking ahead to an impactful 2025.

We’ll cover these topics:

  • Product Launches - Green Goods, Impact Reef, and more
  • Workshops - Hypercerts, Passport, Karma Gap, Allo Yeeter
  • Governance Structure - Treasury and capital management, role updates, and new tools
  • Grant Rounds - Octant Epoch 5, Grant Ships, and Allo Builders rounds
  • Community Growth - Partnerships, POAPs, credentialing, and monthly spaces
  • Future Plans - Expanding product reach, workshops, grants, and community impact

Product Launches

A cornerstone of the Dev Guild is the tools we build to drive the regen ecosystem forward. The first half of 2024 was dedicated to foundational product development, design, and tech stack setup. In the latter half, we focused on deployment across Optimism and Arbitrum. With these foundations in place, we’re poised for significant growth in 2025.

  • Green Goods - Developed as a PWA through a ReFi-focused Arbitrum grant, with ongoing improvements to design and functionality.
  • Impact Reef - Completed OP mission milestones and planned further integration into public goods ecosystems.
  • Allo Yeeter - Built a streamlined tool for distributing funds via the Allo protocol, with future scalability in mind.
  • GreenWill - Currently prototyping a mini-app using Guild.xyz, with planned Farcaster Frames integration in Q1 2025.

Workshops

Q4 marked the launch of our workshop series, designed to empower regens with practical tools like Hypercerts and Karma Gap. These sessions aimed to build hosting expertise and create actionable content for participants.

  • Hypercerts - Explored updates and conducted action-mapping exercises for initiatives.
  • Passport - Offered technical support for integrating Passport into public goods ecosystems.
  • Karma Gap - Guided participants through the platform, followed by grant-to-milestone mapping activities.
  • Allo Yeeter - Showcased the app with a live demo on Arbitrum, sparking a discussion on future enhancements.

Governance Structure

Governance has been a critical focus since our summer update, where we outlined core roles and structures. In the past months, we’ve refined these frameworks, introduced financial management roles, and explored tools like Hats Protocol and Guild.xyz to streamline access and permissions.

Community Growth

Our community is the backbone of the Dev Guild. This year, we’ve doubled our engagement and grown our contributor base while adding onchain tracking elements like POAPs and attestations. Partnerships have further strengthened our ecosystem, bringing mutual growth opportunities.

  • Attestations/POAPs - Implemented Charmverse credentials for roles and minted POAPs for monthly spaces and workshops.
  • Monthly Space - Hosted regular sessions featuring regen builders and partners.
  • Farcaster - Established channels for amplifying Dev Guild initiatives.
  • Partnerships - Collaborated with regen builders on impactful projects and workshops.

Grant Rounds

Grant round participation was a major goal for the second half of 2024. From advancing Allo protocol development to supporting regen gaming projects, we’ve successfully operated and participated in multiple grant programs.

  • Grant Ships - Continued incubating regen projects from previous rounds and introduced new features.
  • Allo Advancement - Partnered with the Cartographer Syndicate to allocate $30K for Allo Builders.
  • Arbitrum in ReFi - Secured a $20K ARB grant to develop Green Goods, deploying attestations and the PWA.
  • Octant Epoch 5 - Raised 17.4 ETH to drive Guild growth across all branches.

Future Plans

As we close the year and look toward 2025, I want to first give a huge shoutout to everyone who contributed to all the work done in 2024. It’s been a privilege to lead as a Steward, and I’ve learned so much from all of our contributors. The momentum will not stop as we head into 2025, especially with preparations for ETHDenver underway.

We aim to grow our base of engineers and builders now that we have a strong foundation for new contributors to onboard quickly and start developing. We plan to continue growing our core tools and expanding their adoption across regen communities and ecosystems. Lastly, we’ll focus on formalizing and expanding our consulting and tech support services to better serve the regen space and help others build the best tools possible.

  • Builder Growth - More bounties, workshops, coding sessions, and hackathons
  • Product Maturity - Continued growth of GreenWill and Green Goods, alongside ecosystem expansion.
  • Consulting/Technical Support - Formalizing services to aid regen communities in creating impactful tools.
  • Branding Competition - Hosting a competition to revamp the Dev Guild and Greenpill brand aesthetic with new logos, cover images and assets
